Ginger syrup is a classic flavour that has a lot of uses in the cocktail world. This version is quite concentrated, bringing up the spicy profile of the ginger root. Probably at its best in gin based libations, but it would surely increase the exotic value of a rum based cocktail! Of course, it can be enjoyed on ice cream, with soda water, for cooking, pastries, etc.
MOSCOW, JAMAICAN, MEXICAN, OR ENGLISH MULE
- 1 ½ oz vodka, rum, tequila or gin
- ¾ oz Ginger Syrup
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- Soda water
PREPARATION: Fill a highball glass with ice. Mix the ingredients, adding soda to fill the glass or as much as you prefer. Garnish with a mint sprig.
